About the Position
Munyax Eco is seeking an organized and results-oriented Supply Chain Management Specialist to strengthen and manage its procurement, inventory, warehousing, logistics, fleet, and fixed-asset activities.
The successful candidate will help ensure that materials and equipment are available at the right location, at the right time, and at an appropriate cost to support successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
The position reports to the Finance & Operations Manager and works closely with Technical, Projects, Sales & Marketing, and Finance teams. The successful candidate will also directly supervise the Logistics Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement and Supplier Management
- Manage procurement activities, supplier identification, and supplier evaluation.
- Maintain and regularly update the Approved Supplier List.
- Support the development and management of framework agreements with key suppliers.
- Review purchase orders and quotation comparisons to ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
- Follow up on procurement approvals, payments, and supplier deliveries.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and address procurement-related issues promptly.
Inventory and Warehouse Management
- Improve inventory accuracy and strengthen stock-control systems.
- Manage reorder planning using the company’s ERP system, particularly Odoo.
- Prepare and maintain reports on stock levels, supplier lead times, and slow-moving items.
- Monitor warehouse activities and ensure goods are properly received, stored, issued, and recorded.
- Identify potential stock shortages, excess inventory, and other supply risks.
Logistics and Asset Management
- Supervise inbound and outbound logistics operations.
- Track deliveries and ensure materials reach project sites on time.
- Coordinate product returns and warranty-related logistics.
- Establish effective controls for fleet vehicles, field tools, and technical equipment.
- Support preventive maintenance planning and monitor related costs.
- Maintain accurate records of company assets and equipment.
Finance and Documentation
- Work closely with the Finance team to ensure complete Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and delivery documentation.
- Support accurate cost allocation and monthly financial closing processes.
- Ensure procurement and logistics records are complete and properly maintained.
- Monitor supply-chain costs and identify opportunities for greater efficiency.
Systems, Risk and Business Continuity
- Develop practical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for supply-chain activities.
- Maintain supply-chain risk registers and support business-continuity planning.
- Identify operational risks early and recommend practical solutions.
- Support improvements that make supply-chain processes more efficient, transparent, and reliable.
Imports and Customs
- Support import activities and customs-clearance processes.
- Assist with landed-cost calculations and monitoring.
- Ensure imported goods are properly documented and tracked.
- Contribute to preparing the supply-chain function for future regional and cross-border expansion.
Team Supervision and Collaboration
- Directly supervise and support the Logistics Officer.
- Coach team members and strengthen their supply-chain capabilities.
- Maintain effective communication with Technical, Projects, Sales & Marketing, and Finance teams.
- Promote teamwork and timely resolution of supply-chain challenges.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CIPS, CSCP, or CPSM is an added advantage.
- 4–6 years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, inventory management, or a related area.
- Practical experience using ERP systems for procurement and inventory management.
- Odoo experience is strongly preferred.
- Good knowledge of imports, customs procedures, and supplier management in Rwanda and/or East Africa.
- Experience in renewable energy, construction, technical services, or installation-based businesses is an advantage.
- Strong Excel and data-analysis skills.
- Ability to prepare and interpret cost and performance reports.
- Strong planning, follow-up, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of Kinyarwanda and/or French is an advantage.
